Here's a fun little trick I learned for vocals using Delay and Reverb.
First, record your vocals (and equalize if needed).
Second add a Delay to the first chain position.
Set the delay to give a "vocal slap-back" sound (set at around 1/32 or 1/32 triplet) with a low feedback to prevent it from ringing out further than a simple slapback effect (probably around 5-10).
Third, add a Reverb effect to the second chain position.
The settings for the reverb are honestly up to you, but I like to add a "big room" setting to it, just enough to allow the delay to interact with the reverb.
Result: A nice, almost cosmic sound on your vocals. Great for Singing. Not so great on quick phrasing (such as rapping). Slower spoken word works as well.
Tweak to fit your needs!
