How do I connect my bass to my phone to use for recording???

Postby spacebass » 16 Mar 2012, 04:52

I've been trying various options of how to use my bass guitar and bass rig to record directly to my Andriod and I am having limited sucsess.I've bought several different patch cables and it seems to me I can either hear my bass clearly without it recording or I can record, but the volume coming through the headphones is so faint I can't here it that well and the previous track will not playback either. I'm open to any ideas that anyone may have to rememdy this problem. Please, if you don't know of anything to help me but you have a friend on this app that plays bass or guitar and they know how to set my rig up to record directly to the phone, please ask them to give me a hand setting this up. I would hate to think that I would have to play through my bass cabinets and put a condenser mic on the cabinet just to record a a short part. Thank people!

Why don't you just use the apps instruments? Just curious.

Hey. If you want to hook up your bass to your Android phone..... Buy the iRig...... It says its only for Apple products.....but I bought it yesterday and it works perfect on my Droid HTC Incredible. You just plug it in your headset jack on your phone... Plug in your bass and start recording!! It has decent sound quality as well.Hope that helps!!

I'm really glad I found out the iRig works. Outside of Pocketband I play Guitar/drums/bass/keyboard/ocarina and do vocals. I definetly suggest it for any Musician with an Android. Good luck guys and make some awesome music! :D ;) :) :o ;) :D
